"Faith In Humans"

28 Sept - 30 Oct 2023

The pursuit of humanity is one that is common in a spectrum of careers. It is this commonality that propelled Kandinsky to switch from Law to a career in the arts. This collection of artworks calls attention to this pursuit and how the representation of the human transforms between artists.

Kayla Santos (ksa) - PURE HERITAGE

April 1-22

As a debut solo exhibition of EdUHK BA Creative Arts and Culture graduate, "pure heritage" explores the bounds of cultural identity in contemporary society through conceptual motifs. As we shift into a globalised market, culture is used as an exotifying trait or bound and repackaged as something palatable.

In this series, the artist expresses her personal disconnection from her heritage alongside the commodification and erasure of culture through medium and metaphor.

ART CENTRAL 2023: THE DICHOTOMY OF NATURE

March 21-25

The theme of dichotomy and juxtaposition in nature reflects a universal idea regarding the forces of life. Inspired by contrasting traditional concepts that are ubiquitous through all cultures such as Yin and Yang, the masculine and feminine, East and West, motion and serenity etc., artists Seema Mathew, John Gale, Marcelle Rosfelder-Leu, and Sergei Rozhnov draw from contrasting intertwined energies in an exploration of nature, and ultimately - the balance found within them.
